Sustainability Plan

Royal Roads University defines “Sustainability” as living and managing activities in a way that balances social, economic, environmental and institutional considerations to “meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

The Royal Roads University Sustainability Plan is the driving force behind a regained sense of environmental stewardship which has always been present on the campus. As a post-secondary institution, RRU has an opportunity and important role to play as an innovative leader in linking education and research into practice and policy areas of sustainability. RRU is also charged with the responsibility and privilege of protecting the unique cultural and natural environments set within Hatley Park National Historic site.
